Mayfest is coming up

Travel to the beautiful Atmore, Alabama for Mayfest 2019 on Saturday, May 4th for a day of fun-filled family activities at Tom Byrne Park. This quaint city park — surrounded by tall longleaf pines, oak trees, a central gazebo, and walking trail —offers the perfect setting for this event. We are sure Mayfest won’t disappoint with so much fun and exciting events throughout to make for an entertaining day. Mayfest 2019 offers something for everyone — arts and crafts, plenty of delicious food, and all-day entertainment from the gazebo stage. There are activities for the kids including children’s rides, rock climbing walls, games, the Williams Station train ride, pony rides, face painting, and much more with new features being added regularly!
The ever-popular Mayfest Beautiful Baby Contest, sponsored by The Atmore Advance, is back again! This Mayfest tradition showcases babies and toddlers ages 3 months through 3 years. Additionally, this year’s festivities also include the Second Annual Miss Mayfest Pageant which is being held May 3rd at the Escambia County High School Auditorium. This pageant features ages 4 – 18 and crowns both overall and optional winners in each division. Miss Mayfest is proudly sponsored by The House of Blush and The Yellow Garden. Also returning this year, the Mayfest Softball tournament hosts entertainment opportunities for the sports enthusiasts. This coed event is open to all players ages 18 and older. There is so much fun to be had!
This year Mayfest is spotlighting a new event — the Mayfest Amateur Open Mic Competition — which is sponsored by Subway. This event is open to all ages and is awarding Subway gift cards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners! The top three winners will receive $500, $250, and $100 gift cards respectively.
