Reality Campus is an event hosted each year at Coastal Alabama Community College (Monroeville Campus) by the Educational Talent Search Program. Local high school students entering the 11th and 12th grades are invited to participate in a simulation in which they will go through the “college registration process.”
Approximately 130 students participated in the recent simulation. They experience life as an “incoming college freshmen” and they are responsible for visiting different booths to pay for their college expenses. These expenses include tuition, housing, and a meal plan just to name a few.
This event was designed to stress the importance of a high school education and the impact high school GPAs and ACT scores can have on college scholarship opportunities.
