An Atmore man, 23-year-old Desha R Jenkins, was seriously injured when his southbound 2001 Nissan Pathfinder reportedly ran off Jack Springs Road, hit either a bridge or tree stump and went airborne. It slammed into a tree roughly 10 feet off the ground, then dropped into a ditch. Alabama State Trooper reports show that the mishap happened around 7:15 p.m. last Friday, December 14, near the busy road’s McKenzie Drive intersection, and that Jenkins, who was not wearing a safety belt, was airlifted to USA Health University Hospital in Mobile.
