City honors veterans

Veterans and friends at city hall

City offices were closed Monday, November 12, in observance of Veterans Day. The city council workshop and meeting were rescheduled for Tuesday afternoon, and the annual Veterans Day program was held following the council meeting.
Jonathan Gibbs, Dallon Rackard, Charlie Henley and Cody Thomas, members of Boy Scout Troop 26, posted the colors, followed by Megan Young and Sandy Hollinger singing the National Anthem. VFW Post 7016 Commander Billy Gates led the Pledge of Allegiance.
The Escambia County Middle School Choir, under the direction of Conrad Weber, provided special music.
Pastor Glenn Wardrop, Reorganized Church of Latter Day Saints, who also serves as VFW chaplain, closed the ceremony with prayer.
