Winston E. Montgomery

Mr. Winston E. Montgomery, age 59, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Turner Funeral Chapel LLC.

 

Randall Alan Balmas

Mr. Randall Alan Balmas, age 65, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Mobile, Ala. He was a native of Cape Girardeau, Mo., former resident of Flippin, Alaska and Molino, Fla. and had resided in Atmore, Ala. for the past year. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Atmore).

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Steven Elmo Balmas.

Mr. Balmas is survived by his son, John Waller (Becky) Johnston, IV of Humble, Texas; daughter, Martha Lee (Ryan) Chaver of Molino; sister, Connie (Paul) Ebdon of Oregon and ten grandchildren, Finnegan, Davin, Lanie, Tristan, Keegun, Zack, Marianna, Nathan, Cooper and Andrew.
A memorial will be held at a later date.

Jerry M. Conway

Mr. Jerry M. Conway, age 59, of Perdido, Ala., passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Ralph Russell and Mary Inloes Conway.

He was employed at Masland Carpet for over twenty years and retired from Wind Creek Casino.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Conway is survived by one son, Jeremy Hadley of Perdido; two daughters, Rachael Meyers of Indiana and Cheyenne Conway of Tennessee; two brothers, Ralph Wayne (Jennifer) Conway of McCullough, Ala. and David (Terry) Conway of Perdido; three sisters, Becky Conway of Atmore,, Carolyn (Jimmy) Phillips of Uriah, Ala. and Diane (James) Johnson of McCullough, Al.; four grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 17, 2018 at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Richard Daniels officiating.  Interment followed in McCullough Cemetery.

The family received friends Saturday, November 17, 2018 from 10 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Catherine Estelle Kimmons Buckhault

Ms. Catherine Estelle Kimmons Buckhault, age 83, of Century, Fla., passed away
Saturday, November 17, 2018 at her residence. She worked at Bratt
Elementary School as a janitor for over twenty-two years. She was born in Frisco City, Ala.
to the late Russell and Allie Hanks Kimmons, Sr.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Marvin Earl Kimmons, Sr., Russell Kimmons, Jr,. Jerry Mack Kimmons; sister, Alice Faye Wilson; sister-in-law, Eleanor Hadway Kimmons; great-grandson, Marcus Barwell, Jr.
Ms. Buckhault is survived by three daughters, Helen (Larry) Lassiter, Margaret Ann “Cricket” Kimmons, all of Atmore, Ala., Connie (Ronnie) Whatley of Perdido, Ala., one sister, Betty Jo Wilson of Flomaton, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Karen, Tina, Wendy, Blake, Jennifer, Kasey, Kelli and Kimberly; fifteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. from Atmore Memorial
Chapel with Sis. Kathy Stophel officiating. Interment will follow in Bratt-Godwin Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Houston Westbrook, Tommy Kimmons, Leslie Barnes, Ricky Harrelson, Marion Cooper, Dale Levins, Greg Gibson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Nicholas McBride, Benny Kimmons, Buddy Kimmons, Kyle Atkins and Eliseo Choncoa.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m.at Atmore Memorial Chapel.

Wendell Carnley

Mr. Wendell Carnley, age 52, passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Atmore, Ala. He was a native and former resident of Brewton, Ala. and had resided in Flomaton, Ala. for the past six years. He was pastor of the Upper Room Church of Jesus Christ and an employee with the Escambia Alabama Road Department.

Mr. Carnley is survived by his parents, Ervin and Myrtice Carnley of Brewton; wife, Esther Blair Carnley of Flomaton; two sons, Dusty Carnley of Flomaton and Joseph Philyew of Flomaton; four daughters, Wendy (Jason) Covan of Brewton, Tracy (Chris) McCurdy of Atmore, Shelby Philyew of Brewton and Jessica (Drew) Keefer of Dothan, Ala.; two sisters, Gloria (Eric) Jerkins of Millbrook, Ala. and Melanie Carnley of Tallassee, Ala. and five grandchildren, Ryan, Cheyanna, Jackson, Stella and Wiley.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Bobby Carnley officiating. Burial will follow at Lambeth Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Brandon Thompson, Woody Daw, Darrin Castleberry, John Castleberry, Hunter Bacon and Randell Blair.

Bryson William Woods

Infant Bryson William Woods passed away Thursday, November 15, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla.
Bryson is survived by his parents, Jake and Devon Marie Woods of Century, Fla.; two sisters, Audrina Woods and Grace Lynn Woods, both of Century; maternal grandparents, Bill and Marie Stuckey of Atmore, Ala. and paternal grandparent, Jane Wiggins of Atmore.

Graveside services will be Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Judson Cemetery with Bro. Bill Stuckey officiating

Preston Farish Solomon  

Mr. Preston Farish Solomon, age 88, passed away Friday, November 16, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla.
He was a native and life-long resident of Walnut Hill, Fla. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the US Army, where he received a Purple Heart, the Bronze Star V Device and numerous battlefield accommodations. He was a retired farmer and former employee at St. Regis Paper Co. He was a Freemason and a member of the Century Masonic Lodge, member of the Purple Heart Association, former director of Escambia River Electric and member of the Walnut Hill Baptist Church. He attended the Annie Jones United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bartow and Jodie Solomon; sister, Juanita Solomon Pacetti; brother, Bartow Solomon, Jr.; and granddaughter, Mattie Elizabeth Solomon.
Mr. Solomon is survived by his wife of sixty years, Patricia Solomon of Walnut Hill; one daughter, Amelia Solomon (Randy) Frahm of Rockwood, Tenn.; two sons, John Preston (Stephanie) Solomon of Walnut Hill and Joseph Michael (Denise) Solomon of Markham, Texas; five grandchildren, Tabitha Frahm, Jordan Frahm, John Preston Solomon, Makenna Solomon Krenek and Levi Godwin Solomon.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Lee Bateman officiating. Burial will follow at Walnut Hill Baptist Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday, November 19, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.
