Firefighters holding toy drive

Once again, Atmore firefighters are holding their Firefighters for Christmas Toy Drive to help families at Christmas.
As in the past, this isn’t just any toy drive – this one is attended by superheroes!
On Saturday, November 10, firefighters and friends will be at Walmart. If you’d like to help out, drop off a new unopened, unwrapped toy. The drive starts at 9 a.m.; they don’t have a set ending time.
According to Atmore Fire Department Lt. Daniel White, toys will benefit local children, but something new is being added.
“In addition to helping our local kids this year, we hope to help victims of Hurricane Michael,” he said. “We’ve been in contact with a church who will distribute the toys when we deliver them”
No doubt the kids will enjoy interacting with the superheroes. But keep this in mind – not every hero wears a cape. You can be a hero to a less fortunate child this Christmas.
