Incumbents grab early leads in heavy voting

 
Gov. Kay Ivey, Attorney General Steve Marshall, Alabama District 66 Rep. Alan Baker and U.S. Congressman Bradley Byrne grabbed big leads in early and unofficial voting results reported by the Alabama Secretary of State Office.
 
Ivey led challenger Walt Maddox by a 334-86 margin in the first returns posted, while Marshall, an Atmore native, held a 330-92 lead over challenger Joseph Siegelman.
 
Baker held a similar lead (252-93) over Atmore City Council Member Susan Smith, and U.S. District 1 Congressman Bradley Byrne had outpolled challenger Robert Kennedy Jr. by 302-96.
 
No returns were posted for any of the Escambia County races. Voter turnout is reportedly heavy across the state.
