Perdido School eighth-grade volleyball players competed in the 1A County Volleyball Tournament on Monday, October 8 at Perdido.
The Perdido team, under the guidance of Coach Lori Rider, defeated Summerdale and Elberta to claim the title of 1A champions for the third year in a row.
The eighth-grade team had only one loss during the regular season, and the seventh-grade team went undefeated.
“This group of girls was so motivated and determined,” Coach Rider said. “They love the game and it shows as they always gave a hundred and ten percent Throughout the season, I preached that we had to FINISH. Anyone can start something, but it takes determination to finish. With Elberta being our only loss, we made some adjustments. These girls applied them and played their hearts out. I couldn’t be more proud of them!”
Aspen Gerald earned Tournament MVP. Savannah Catrett and Annalee Barnett were named to the All-Tournament Volleyball team.
In celebration, the players rolled the trees on campus and decorated the school windows.
