UB welcomes Walker as AVP, Community Bank Business Lender

United Bank’s President and CEO Robert R. Jones, III announced Chris Walker has joined United Bank as Assistant Vice President, Community Bank Business Lender. In his role, Walker will work to build relationships and provide financing solutions to both consumers and businesses. Walker will be the primary point of contact for the Bank’s Community Facilities Lending program.
The Community Facilities Lending program is managed by UB Community Development, a community development partner of United Bank. The program was established to provide long-term, low-cost financing for community facilities. Projects include fire and rescue stations, village and town halls, hospitals, adult and child care centers, assisted living facilities, public buildings, libraries, schools, and many other community based initiatives. Financing may also cover costs for land acquisition, professional fees and purchase of equipment.
“We are pleased to have Chris on board to orchestrate the growth of the Bank’s Community Facilities Lending program.” Jones said. “His passion for finding appropriate financing solutions for both consumers and businesses will be key to the team’s success. I am proud to welcome Chris to our lending team. “
A native of Escambia County, Walker is a graduate of the University of South Alabama where he received a B.A. in Communications and Public Relations. He is a 2017 graduate of Alabama School of Banking. With more than 17 years finance experience, nine of which in community banking, Walker brings his skills in several areas of banking including credit analysis, consumer and commercial lending as well as relationship management.
Walker is currently serving his third term on the Atmore City Council. Through his service, he has dedicated his leadership to supporting the successful recruitment and development of Rivercane Industrial Park including a city grant for utilities and road development for the Park. He is an active Atmore Lions Club member. His previous service includes past President of Escambia County High School Athletic Club, and past Board of Director for Atmore YMCA, in addition to numerous other civic leadership committees.
Walker’s office is in Atmore at 200 East Nashville Avenue.
