Sharon Scarling Worsham

Ms. Sharon Scarling Worsham, age 72, passed away Thursday, June 28, 2018 at her home in Daphne, Ala. She was a native of Dothan, Ala., former longtime resident of Loxley, Ala. and has resided in Daphne for the past ten years. She was a retired office manager for the Baldwin County Mental Health with seventeen years of service. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Daphne.

She was preceded in death by her father, Alfred Joseph Scarling and mother, Minnie Beverly Scarling and one brother, Robert Louis Constantine.

Mrs. Worsham is survived by her seven daughters, Rebecca (Charles) White of Spanish Fork, Utah, Rachel (Zack) Wigstrom of Loxley, Lisa (Marcic) Williams and Christina (Kevin) Nolte, all of Daphne, Michelle Worsham of Spanish Fort, Ala., Catherine Worsham of Charleston, S.C. and Tiffany (Josh) Kohl of Port Neches, Texas; one brother, Henry “Butch” (Nancy) Constantine of Arden, N.C. and twelve grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Daphne. Burial will follow at Mobile Memorial Garden Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until service time at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Daphne.

Pallbearers will be Charles White, Nathan White, Gavin Loria, Kevin Nolte, Zack Wilgstrom and Josh Kohl.

Charles Eugene Gilley

Mr. Charles Eugene Gilley, age 71, passed away Saturday, July 1, 2018 at his home in Bratt, Fla.

He was a native and life-long resident of Bratt. He was a retired CSX Conductor with thirty six years of service. He was a member of Bratt First Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ezra and Algy Mae Gilley and one brother, James Gilley.

Mr. Gilley is survived by his wife of forty eight and one-half years, Rose Gilley of Bratt; one son, Charles Eric (Kerri) Gilley of Bratt; two daughters, Crystal Gilley (Josh) Calvert of Flomaton, Ala. and Deana Gilley (Jonathan) Edwards of Branson, Mo.; three sisters, Betty Jean Hall, Yvonne Aden, both of Bratt and Sharron Murell of Byrneville, Fla.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild and special son-in-law, Ben Brown of Atmore, Ala.

Funeral services will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Otis Thames and Mr. Terry Bryan officiating. Burial will follow at Godwin Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 5, 2018 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Ben Brown, Josh Calvert, Wade Stoker, Carlee Edwards, David Amerson and Edward Gilman.

Roger A. Vogel               

Mr. Roger A. Vogel, age 80, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, June 30, 2018 in Bay Minette, Ala. He was born to the late Robert John and Vera Myrtle Jones Vogel in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He was a retired custodian from the Escambia County Alabama School System and retired from the Army National Guard. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Atmore.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Judy Vogel and a daughter, Laura Vogel.
Mr. Vogel is survived by his sister, Marlene V. (Reese) Walker of Mobile, Ala.; a niece, Stephanie (Clyde) Walker-James and a nephew, Stephen Walker.
Graveside services will be held Friday, July 6, 2018 at 1 p.m. from Oak Hill Cemetery with Rev. Brennan Peacock officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Friday, July 6, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Willie James “Youngblood” Williams

Mr. Willie James “Youngblood” Williams, age 60, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2018. He was born to Ozell Hines and Betty L. Williams. He was a member of Mt. Gillead Missionary Baptist Church. He was a 1976 graduate of Escambia County High School. He was employed with Standard Furniture Company in Bay Minette, Ala. for forty years.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Marvin Ries; sister, Diane Hines; one grandson, Carmeron Antonio Richardson and one son, Antonio Devon Richardson.

Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of thirty-four years, Mary M. Sharp Williams of Brewton, Ala.; four children, Latonia (Rev. Gordon) Brooks, Sr., Don (Latina) Richardson, Jr., Torris (Erica) Richardson, Alabama and Dylan Sharp, all of Atmore; sisters, Beatrice Williams of Atmore, Ozella (Lorenzo) Miller, Danielle (Murray) Love and Tara Hines, all of Davenport, Fla.; brother, Warnell Williams of Atmore, Derrick (Tracey) Hines and Ozell Hines, Jr., both of Davenport; twelve grandchildren; one great-grandchild; special friends, Anthony Stallworth,

Alfred Sharp, Sr., James Williams, Sr., Tookie Williams, James McCall and Charles Daniels; hot of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Missoinar4y Baptist Church with Dr. Monroe Tucker, Jr., Pastor, officiating. Interment followed in Pierce, Montgomery-Rabb Cemetery, Freemanville.

Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends.

Brenda Joy “Country” Hudson Allen

Mrs. Brenda Joy “Country” Hudson Allen, age 53, of Vallejo, Calif., passed away Thursday, June 14, 2018. She was born to Willie Louis Hudson and Dorothy Lean Hudson in Dixie Mill, Ala. She was a 1984 graduate of Escambia County High School. She was employed at Hunters Point Naval Shipyard. She was a member of Antioch Church of God in Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandparents, Hunter (Minnie) Lewis, Sr.; uncles, LC Jones, Willie Clyde Lewis, Curtis Lewis, Jake Montgomery and ML Allen; aunts, Minnie Osteen (Eddie B) Hudson, (ML) Ida Mae Allen, Willie Mae Harris, Nancy Mural Lewis and May Lee McCoy; sister, Hattie Mae Brown; nieces, Sharon Lewis and Melissa S. Hudson.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Elton Allen; sisters, Gloria (Johnny) Dixon, Contina (Rodesia) Hudson and JoAnn Brown; brothers, Willie (Melissa) James Hudson, Sr. and Anthony (Evelyn) Bullard; uncle, Hunter (Angel) Lewis Sr., James (Alberta) Hudson, Sam (Margret) Hudson and Cecile (Jerlynne) Hudson; step children, Joshua Allen, Christina Allen, Kris Allen, Sean Allen and Elton Allen, Jr.

Funeral services were held Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Destiny Worship Center with Dr. Bernard Bishop, Pastor officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.

Pall bearers were Cordaryl Lewis, Jr., DaMon Lewis, Nicholas Salter, Willie James Hudson, Jr. Micah Lewis, Alphonso Hudson.
