Willie Adams Zika Brothers
Mrs. Willie Adams Zika Brothers, age 89, passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 in Century, Fla. She was a native of Bay Minette, Ala., former resident of Christian Home, Fla. (60 years) and resided in Bay Minette for the past few years. She was a caregiver for sick and elderly people. She was a member of the Christian Home Freewill Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Frank Zika and Grady Brothers.

Mrs. Brothers is survived by her sister, Vera Mae Rice of Flomaton, Ala.; sister-in-law, Doris Adams of McDavid, Fla. and a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Grant Dykes officiating. Burial followed at Christian Home Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from noon until service time at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Robbie Thompson, Zack Thompson, Johnie Poesl, Nick Thompson, Vince Thompson and Regan Thompson.

Mac A. Black
Mr. Mac A. Black, age 74, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Atmore Nursing Care Center. He was born in Atmore to the late Theo and Edrena Black. He was a 1961 graduate of the Escambia County Training school. He relocated to Florida where he work in the fruit orchards for many years. He enjoyed sports and playing cards.

He was deceased by his daughter, LaWanna Faye Black; his parent; and three brothers, Theo Black, Blanchard Black and John Thomas Black.

Mr. Black is survived by his wife, Edna Black of Atmore; two sons, MacArthur Black, Jr. of Shreveport, La. and Kenneth Black of Atmore; one sister, Daisy Black Williams of Atmore; one brother, Lewis (Rose Mary) Black of Montgomery, Ala.; twelve grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Faith Tabernacle Holiness Church (Freemanville Community) with Elder Edgar McCarthy, Pastor, officiating. Interment followed in Stallworth Cemetery. His body did lie in-state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Public viewing was held Friday, March 20, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Jimmy Darin Cunningham, Sr.
Mr. Jimmy Darin Cunningham, Sr., age 51, of Atmore, Ala. passed away Thursday, March 15, 2018 at his residence. He was born in Atmore to the late Paul, Sr. and Lillie Mae Cunningham. He was a 1985 graduate of Escambia County High School. He served his country for three years in the U.S. Army (1985 – 1988) receiving the rank of SPC4.

He was an employee of Alto Corporation at the time of his death.

He was preceded in death by three infant children and his parents.

Mr. Cunningham is survived by one daughter, Jimmekia (Michael) Weaver of Atmore; one son, Jimmy Darin Cunningham, Jr. of Atmore; one step-daughter, Lashetta N. Cunningham of Pensacola, Fla.; one sister, Mary Bell of New York, N.Y.; three brothers, Paul, Jr. (Kim) Cunningham of Atmore, John D. (Diane) Cunningham of Long Island, N.Y. and Kenneth R. Cunningham of Detroit, Mich.; seven grandchildren; two ex-wives, Cassandra E. Cunningham of Atmore and June Cunningham of Bay Minette, Ala. and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

Memorial services were held Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Noon at Longmire-Jones Memorial Chapel in Turner Funeral Chapel with Min. Betty Cox officiating.

Annie Pearl Brazzell
Mrs. Annie Pearl Brazzell, age 87, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at Atmore Nursing Care Center. She was a native of Monroe County and a longtime resident of Atmore.

She was a 1950 graduate of Escambia County Training School. She was a retired machine operator at Monsanto Chemical Plant in Pensacola, Fla. and also had worked as a seamstress at Vanity Fair. She was a member of Liberty Missionary Baptist Church and loved cooking and sewing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Clark Brazzell; her son, Louis Chester Brazzell and her parents.

Mrs. Brazzell is survived by her daughter, Emma Brazzell Brown of Auburn, Ala.; step – daughter, Ora (Rev. Freddie) Banks of Atmore; two grandchildren (one devoted, Ashley Brazzell), nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Funeral service were held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 1:30 p.m. at Liberty Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Isaac Bradley, Pastor, officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery. Her body did lie in-state at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.

Public viewing was held Friday, March 30, 2018 from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

Edward O’Neil Dawson
Mr. Edward O’Neil Dawson, age 80, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native and life-long resident of Barnett Crossroads, Ala. He retired from Masland Carpet with thirty-two years of service. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Clara Dawson; two daughters, Deborah Gray and Victoria Allen; two brothers, Douglas Dawson and Gerald Dawson; granddaughter, Heather Marie Sutton and an infant great-grandson.

Mr. Dawson is survived by his wife of fifty years, Myrtle Lee Dawson of Barnett Crossroads; one son, Joey (Liz) Carter of Barnett Crossroads; one daughter, Pamela (Kenny Hawthorne) Gavin of Pollard, Ala.; one brother, O’Gwynn (Mary) Dawson of New Orleans, La.; seven grandchildren and eight-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 29, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Tony Richburg and Rev. Mitch Lambeth officiating. Burial followed at New Bethlehem Cemetery in Barnett Crossroads.

The family received friends Thursday, March 29, 2018 from 1:30 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Shawn Yuhasz, Frank Carter, Timothy Knowles, Daniel Hagen, Christopher Gray and Scott Allen.

Eddie Dukes
Mr. Eddie Dukes, age 61, of Evergreen, Ala., passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at his residence.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 11 a.m. at New Hope A.M.E. Zion Church.

Alberta Lawson Johnson
Alberta Lawson Johnson of McCullough Community passed away Monday, March 26, 2018 at U.S.A. Medical Center, Mobile, Ala.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced later by Christian Memorial Funeral Home.

Odessa Buretta Mosley
Mrs. Odessa Buretta Mosley, age 78, of Evergreen, Ala., passed away Tuesday, March 20, 2018. She was born in Tunnel Springs, Ala. to the late Hills and Allie Wiggins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ella Thompson and Nervista Edwards.

Mrs. Mosley is survived by her husband for sixty-four years, Ulysses Mosley; one son, Carl Shelia) Mosley; siblings, Willie Wiggins and Hills (Flossy) Wiggins, Jr. of Flint, Mich., Gladys Stegall of Pensacola, Fla., Rosa (Lee) Clements of Winchester, Va., Annie Louise (willie) Harris of Moss Point, Miss., Jerry (Kathy) Wiggins of Gladwin, Mich. And Dorothy Grace of Evergreen, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Anitria, Carl Mosley, Jr., Sean, LaTisha, Chelsie, Jackson, Martez and Shaundrea; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Brother Redding officiating. Burial followed in Wolfe-Bayview Cemetery, Daphne, Ala.

Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends.
