Judy Lynn Harris
Ms. Judy Lynn Harris, age 52, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2108 in Atmore. She was born to the late Leo and Verna Mae Harrison Harris in Atmore.

She was preceded by her parents; sisters, Janice Harris and Judy Harris.

Ms. Harris is survived by her daughter, Krystal (Susie) Brakeman of Decatur, Ala.; her fiancé, Claude Odom of Atmore; her sister, Tammy (Mike) Howle of Molino, Fla. and a brother, Jerry (Diane) Harris of Stockton, Ala.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. David Harrison officiating. Interment  followed in Pineview Cemetery.

The family received friends Monday, March 5, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home.

Delores Rolin Schultz
Mrs. Delores Rolin Schultz, age 64, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018. She was a native and life-long resident of Poarch, Ala. She was a member of the Poarch Band of Creek Indians and attended the New Testament Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Schultz; parents, George and Mary Rolin and two brothers, Frank Rolin and Glenn Rolin.

Mrs. Schultz is survived by her brother, Billie Rolin of Poarch; one sister, Lenna Rackard of Atmore, Ala.; one niece, Anita Glass of Atmore; five nephews, Glenn Rolin of Baytown, Texas, Jerry Rolin, Kevin Rackard, Rodney Rackard and Tommy Rolin, all of Atmore; a host of great nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. William “Bubba” Rolin officiating. Burial followed at New Home Cemetery.

The family received friends Monday, March 5, 2018 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Ronnie Rolin, Keith Rackard, Jacob Rackard, Michael Glass, Chez Mercer and David Glass.

Arrie Lee Riley
Mr. Arrie Lee Riley, age 69, passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at Hospice of Dayton in Dayton, Ohio.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time but will be announced by Turner Funeral Chapel LLC.

Beatrice Cook
Mrs. Beatrice Cook, age 84, of Walnut Hill, Fla., passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. She was born in Brewton Ala. to the late Gussie and Martha Catherine Fuqua. She grew up in Brewton and attended W.S. Neal and Mount Berry School in George. She wrote her memoirs about those times in a book that her family will cherish. She held different occupations over her lifetime but her most cherished job was being a mother to her five sons. She was a member of the Church of Christ, Atmore.

She was preceded in death by her husband of fifty years, Cecil Cook, her siblings, and one grandson, Allan Cook.

Mrs. Cook is survived by five sons, David Cook of Navarre, Fla., Tony Cook of Auburn, Ala., Tim Cook (Vicki) of Bratt, Fla., Richard Cook (Rebecca) of Oak Grove, Fla. and Robin Cook of Garcon Point, Fla.; eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Norman Newberry officiating. Interment followed at Green Acres Cemetery, McCall, Ala.

The family received friends Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. until service time.

Pallbearers were her sons, grandsons and family friend Doyle King. Interment will follow at Green Acres Cemetery, McCall Ala.

Anthony “Larry” Corrone
Mr. Anthony “Larry” Corrone, age 86, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018 in Century, Fla. He was a native of West Haven, CT, former resident of Bethany, CT and had resided in Century for the past six years. He was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict serving with the U.S. Army.

He was a VFW Life Member of Connecticut, where he served as Judge Advocate and was the owner operator of Amity Excavating.

Mr. Corrone is survived by his wife of thirty years, Susan Joan Corrone of Century and one son, Lawrence John (Lesley) Corrone of Bethany, CT.

Clarence Leon Austin
Mr. Clarence Leon Austin, age 64, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Friday, March 2, 2018 at his residence.

Austin

He was a native of Perdido, Ala. and had been a resident of Atmore for some years. He attended Central High School in Mobile, Ala. He had worked for Thompson Tractor as a supply clerk. He served in the U. S. Army and was a fan of the Green Bay Packers.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hezekiah and Anna Mack Austin; one sister, Arretha Washington; three brothers, Charles, Sr., Marvin and Alphonse Austin; step-mother, Ruby Austin and grandmother, Daisy Henderson.

Mr. Austin is survived by his spouse, Betty Ann Marshall of Atmore; one son, Ryan L. McDonald of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Virginia Gaines of Prince George, Va. and Erika Austin of Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Paul (Mickey) Austin of Baltimore, Md. and Willie B. (Kim) Austin of New York, N.Y.; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and other family.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 2 p.m. at The Longmire – Jones Memorial Chapel of Turner Funeral Chapel. Interment followed in Morning Dove Cemetery in Perdido.

The family received friends Friday, March 9, 2oli from 2 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

James Edward Findley
Mr. James Edward Findley, age 72, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 in Pensacola, Fla. He was a native of Brewton, Ala. and resided in Atmore, Ala. He was a Veteran of Vietnam Conflict serving with the US Air Force.

He retired from Kimberly Clark Papermill with thirty-eight years of service. He was a member of the NRA, American Legion and the Fretwell Tabernacle Holiness Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Lucille Findley and father-in-law, Billy E. Parnell.

Mr. Findley is survived his wife, Rosa Marie Findley of Atmore; one son, Jamie Boyington (Jessica Nichole) of Pine Grove, Ala.; three daughters, Stephanie Findley of Atmore, Ashley Darlene Findley and Hollie Marie Findley, both of Perdido, Ala.; six grandchildren, Hunter Devin Findley, Ashton Kevin James Findley, Gabbie Boyington, Jonathan Hadley, Starsea Breeze Hadley and Preston Boyington and special friend, Jack Findley.

Funeral services were held Thursday, March 8, 2018 at Noon at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Sis. Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Brooklyn Baptist Cemetery.

Ruby Lee Watson
Ms. Ruby Lee Watson, age 97, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Atmore Nursing Care Center. She had been a member of Second Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She was a Domestic Engineer.

She was preceded in death by her daughters, Mary Elizabeth Watson and Martha Ray Watson; one son, George Watson; her parents, George and Nancy Brown; three sisters, Stella Jones, Mary Alice Bradford, Essie Lee Brown; all of her brothers, Willie Ingram, George Lee Brown, Albert Brown, I. V. Brown, Willie James Brown, Richard Brown, and Johnny Brown.

Mrs. Watson is survived by two sons, Robin and Ernest Watson both of Atlanta, Ga.; her last sister, Louise Ingram of Mobile, Ala.; five grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, with one devoted, Helen McCreary, nephews, and other family.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 9, 2018 at 1 p.m. at The Longmire-Jones Memorial Chapel of Turner Funeral Chapel with Apostle Louis Banks, officiating. Retirement of her remains was in Fairview Cemetery.

E.Z. Wiggins
Mr. E. Z. Wiggins, age 68, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Monday, February 19, 2018. He was born to the late Arelious and Annie Ree Wiggins in Atmore.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Arelious Wiggins, Jr., Manford Wiggins, David Lee Wiggins, Edward Wiggins.

Mr. Wiggins is survived by his wife, Sara Wiggins of Foley, Ala.; children, Wilbert Nettles, Minnie Hodges, Ezekiel Nettles, Clarisa Nettles, Edgar Nettles, Eric Coley, Ray Wiggins, Sonja Rivers and Leana Bullard; brothers, Claude Wiggins, John Wiggins, Joe Wiggins, Prince Wiggins; aunt; Esther Wiggins and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held Thursday, March 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Christian Memorial Funeral Home with Claude Wiggins officiating.

Emily Ann Harris-Thames
Mrs. Emily Ann Harris-Thames, age 76, passed away Monday, February 26, 2018. She was born in Atmore, Ala. to the late Alberta Harris-Reynolds and Willie B. Harris. She was a 1959 graduate of the Escambia County Training School. She relocated to Hartford, Ct. and worked at Northeast Utilities for thirteen years and twelve years for Travelers Insurance Company. She was an active member of Liberty Christian Center; was an active member of Toastmasters Association receiving numerous awards for public speaking. Back in Atmore she was an active member of the PCRC and served as substitute teach at Escambia County Middle School. She was an avid reader, loved to dance and watch NBA basketball.

She was preceded in death by her parents and Rethanal Reynolds; children, Rethanel Bernard Thames and Timothy Eugene Brooks; brother, Herman Montgomery and devoted friend, Eugene Brooks.

Mrs. Harris-Thames is survived by three sons, Vincent Thames (Angela), Jeffrey Thames and Anthony Brooks (Bridget); two daughters, Jennifer Thames (Dion) and Deatrice Brooks; three brothers, DeShazo Reynolds (Lee-Ann), Tony Harris and Vincent Harris; four sisters, Jacqueline R. Peterson, Lora Mosely (Willie), Barbara Harris-Mars (Norman) and Dorothy Harris; grandchildren; great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, March 10, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Empowerment Tabernacle with Bishop Daryl North, Pastor officiating. Interment followed at Stallworth Cemetery.
