The official announcement was made Monday, November 13, by the Chamber Board.

“We are thankful for the many years of dedicated service and heartfelt love that Sheryl gave to our community during her tenure as the Atmore Chamber Director,” said Chamber President Chris Singleton in a press release. “Sheryl’s knowledge of our community goes unmatched and we will always be grateful for her decision to return to the Atmore area. We are confident that Sheryl will continue to be successful in the years to come, whether it is complete retirement or if it is giving in to her adventurous spirit of trying new things and traveling to new places.”

In a personal thanks to Vickery, Singleton added, “Thank you, Sheryl, for all you gave to the Atmore Chamber of Commerce and the Atmore community. You will forever be remembered and loved for your contributions and love for your community!”

The Chamber is in the process of looking for a new director.

Administrative Assistant Mallorie Beachy recently left the Chamber to open a business. Brandon Beachy was hired for that position.
