CPC, Peer Helpers team up for Red Ribbon

ECHS Peer Helpers

Escambia County High School Peer Helpers, with the assistance of the Children’s Policy Council facilitated a number of Red Ribbon activities for fellow students Monday, October 23.

Drivers of a pedal-operated vehicle were given goggles (one pair that simulated being impaired due to alcohol, another marijuana) to wear as they drove around and between cones which represented people or objects.

Other students tried to walk a straight line. No problem without the goggles. Big problem with the goggles.

And other students shot basketball. Again, the goggles were a clear indicator that alcohol and marijuana affect ability.
