His & Hers participating in benefit – Helping Rhonda Brantley’s team

The ladies at His & Her Style Shop in Atmore are joining forces in “Paint the Town Teal” – a fundraiser to benefit gynecologic cancer research at the USA Mitchell Cancer Institute.

On Wednesday, September 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., they will do blowouts, teal streaks and polish. During these hours, stylists will offer their time for donations.

These donations will go toward Team Rhonda in the GO Run event to be held Saturday, September 16, in Mobile.

The fundraiser is in honor of Rhonda Brantley, a former Atmore resident and a cancer survivor. Rhonda now resides in Orange Beach.

Teal is the color that symbolizes gynecologic cancer. The GO in GO Run stands for gynecologic oncology, and the run is held each September during Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month.

While quite treatable in the earlier stages, gynecologic cancers are especially deadly in the later stages – and one of the leading causes of cancer deaths among women in the United States.

If you’d like to participate in the fund-raiser at His & Her Style Shop, Wednesday, September 13, please call for an appointment, 368-1137.

The shop is located at 108 E. Church Street, Atmore.
