Betty Carolyn Allen
Mrs. Betty Carolyn Allen, age 75, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 in Mobile, Ala. She was a native and life-long resident of Perdido, Ala. She was of the Holiness faith.

She was preceded in death by two sons Joel Allen, Woodrow Judge Allen and one infant daughter, Marshal Beverly Allen.

Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years Reuben Allen of Perdido; one son, Tommy Earl (Wanda) Allen of Hahnville, La.; two daughters, Wanda Kersey of Perdido and Tammy Sheryl Allen (Paul Claywell ) of West, Va.; three brothers, Burk Stewart, Jerry Lee Stewart and Rocky Lynn Stewart, all of Rabun, Ala..; seven sisters, Barbara Ann Hadley, Marilyn Stewart and Sherry Gene Ryan, all of Pine Grove, Ala., Joal Lynette Thomas, Janice Kay Sims and Shelia Malinda Foster, all of Rabun, Margie Jewel Doyle of White House Fork, Ala.; ten grandchildren and twelve great- grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 3 p.m. at Dean Holiness Church with the Sis. Helen Stewart officiating. Burial followed at Dean Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 6 p.m. until service time at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Dean Holiness Church.

Joshua Marshall Presley
Mr. Joshua Marshall Presley, age 21, of Goodway, Ala., passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 at his home. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church. Joshua was a student at Alabama Southern Community College working toward a degree in Education.

He had a love for teaching students and coaching football and track.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Howard and Sandra Presley and Mrs. Thelma Ward.

Mr. Presley is survived by his parents Brian and Alysia Presley of Goodway; three brothers, Austin (Morgan) Weaver of Atmore, Ala., Preston Presley and Johnathan (Ann) Presley, all of Goodway; one sister, Stephanie (Tim) Davis of Pensacola, Fla. and his grandfather, Elliott Ward of Goodway.

Funeral services were held Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Enon Baptist Church with Rev. C. L. Langford officiating. Burial followed at Enon Baptist Church Cemetery in Goodway.

The family received friends Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 5 p.m.to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Anne L. Wells
Mrs. Anne L. Wells, age 85, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Bay Minette, Ala. She was a homemaker. She was born in West Palm Beach, Fla. to the late Burns and Lola Smoak Lariscy. She is a member of Atmore First Assembly of God.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wendell Wells, Sr. and eight siblings.

Mrs. Wells is survived by two sons, Wendell (Karen) Wells, Jr of Plant City, Fla., Kevin (Christine) Wells of Oregon; three daughters, Susan (Melton) Bethea and Dana Wells, all of Atmore, Becky (Terry) Norris of Daphne, Ala.; one sister, Betty Boyce of Tallahassee, Fla.; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Thursday, April 6, 2017 at 2 p.m. from Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Davis officiating. Interment followed in Oak Hill Cemetery.

The family received friends Wednesday, April 5, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m.at Johnson-Quimby Funeral Home Chapel.

Jack Colbert
Mr. Jack Colbert, age 87, former Alabama resident, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017, at his home in Ocklawaha, Fla. He was born in Huxford, Ala. to the late Leroy and Stella Colbert He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps, which became the U.S. Air Force shortly thereafter.

He served 22 years serving his country in three wars as a flight engineer on B52 bombers. His second career took him to the city of Orlando Fla. where he retired.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughters, Linda Diane and Jackie Elizabeth Colbert and brother, Eugene Colbert.

Mr. Colbert is survived by his wife, Helen of sixty-nine years; children, Elaine (Terry) Hoffman Waco, Texas, Sheila (Tommy) Berthelot of LaPlace, La., Danny (Mary) Colbert of Ocklawaha, Patricia Colbert Ocala, Fla., Jack D (Noreen) Colbert Orlando and his sister, Letty Jane Stalvey of Orlando; twenty grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 1 p.m. from the Poplar Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Poplar Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the church.

William Thomas (Skip) McGee Jr.
Mr. William Thomas (Skip) McGee Jr., age 73, passed away Tuesday, April 4, 2017 in Atmore, Ala. He was a former resident of Poarch, Ala. and has resided in Little Rock, Ala. for the past three years. He attended the Robinsonville Baptist Church. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Poarch Band of Creek Indians and the Emergency Corp.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Thelma McGee and all of his siblings.

Mr. McGee is survived by his wife of fifty-one and a half years, Sue McGee of Little Rock; one son, William McGee (Alyssia) of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Shawnee McGee and Cheyanne McGee.

Funeral services were held Monday, March 10, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Jones officiating. Burial followed at the Judson – Creek Indian Cemetery.

The family received friends Sunday, April 9, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Chris Blackburn, Jerry Blackburn, Marlon Gunn, James Green, Paul Bell, and Douglas Kelly.

Marjorie Louise Woodward Vlasis
Marjorie Louise Woodward Vlasis, age 91, of Belleville Avenue, Brewton, Ala. passed away Thursday, March 30, 2017 in a local hospital. She was a native and former resident of Pensacola, Fla. before moving to Brewton. She attended Brewton First United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Vlasis.

Mrs. Vlasis is survived by two sons, Bobby Vlasis, Jr. of Little Rock, Ark., Steve Vlasis of Lake Martin, Ala,; two daughters, JoAnne Windham of Graceville, Fla., Susan Douglas of Brewton, eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Tony McCullough officiating. Interment followed Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at noon in Barrancas National Cemetery Pensacola.

The family received friends Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.

Floyd M. Perry
Mr. Floyd M. Perry, age 82, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2017. He was born in Warrenton, N.C. to the late Chloe and Floyd Perry. He was a loyal member of each church he joined serving in the choir, Bible study and Sunday school as well as Deacon. He loved taking cruises and traveling. He fostered many children over fifty years and later adopted three of the foster Children. Upon retiring he moved to Evergreen, Ala. and joined Sparta Hill United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his children, Alphonso M. and Darlene Sonja.

Mr. Perry is survived by his sons Alphonso Florence of Germany, Paul of Connecticut, Leon, Chris and Dontek of Alabama; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nine sisters and brothers, Betty (Artie), John, Eugene, Edna, Wilhemenia, Ruby (Gus), Conrad (Vivian) Elaine and Alma and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services were held Monday, April 3, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Sparta Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Cathie Myers, Pastor and Rev. Paul Everett, Eulogist. Interment followed at Sparta Hill UM Cemetery.

Pallbearers and flower bearers were family and friends.

Mrs. Helen J. Askew, age 81, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Atmore Community Hospital.

Diana Sandra Wiggins-Finley
Mrs. Diana Sandra Wiggins-Finley, age 51, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Mobile Infirmary. She was born to Lillie Ruth Wiggins and the late Manford Wiggins. She was a 1983 graduate of Escambia County High School. She had work for seven years at Southern Aluminum and at Flower Wood Nursery in Loxley for eleven years and a seasonal worker for Allied Peanut Company. She was a faithful member of Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church, Atmore where she was a member of the choir and kitchen committee.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Carrie Mae Rivers, Moses Rivers, Aeourilus Wiggins and Annie Ree Wiggins; her aunts, Mary Hall and Iola Tucker; and uncles Edward, Jr., David, and Willie James Wiggins.

Mrs. Wiggins-Finley is survived by her husband, Patrick Finley; three sons, Ray Charles (Tyesha) Wiggins, Tarvarsa M. Wiggins, and Sanathan U. Wiggins, all of Atmore; fifteen grandchildren; her mother, Lillie Ruth Wiggins of Atmore; four sisters, Margaret (Thaddius) Pace, Carrie (Thomas) Spencer, Juanita Williams and Gwendolyn Boston, all of Atmore; four brothers, Michael Wiggins of Columbus, Ga., Steve (Patricia) Wiggins, and Kevin Wiggins, all of Atmore, and Joey Wiggins of Walnut Hill, Fla.; a host of  nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.

Funeral services were held Saturday, April 8, 2017 @ 1 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Full Gospel Baptist Church with Rev. Freddie D. Banks, Pastor, officiating. Interment followed in Fairview Cemetery.
