Harold McElhaney
Mr. Harold McElhaney, age 75, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Atmore, Ala. He was a native and former resident of Bratt, Fla. and has resided in Atmore most of his life. He was the owner and operator of Wayside Grocery for 27 years, an expert fisherman and avid Alabama Fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey McElhaney and Vira Hadley.

Mr. McElhaney is survived by his wife of forty-three years, Peggy Couch of Atmore: four step-sons, Aubrey (Natasha) Rolin, Johnny Steadham and Bryan (Lynda) Couch, all of Atmore and Danny (Tammy) Couch of Ashboro, N.C.; two brothers, Darrell (Sherry) McElhaney of McLean, Vir. and William (Christina) Hadley of Atmore; twelve step-grandchildren; twelve step-great- grandchildren; two nephews and one great nieces.

Funeral services were held Monday, February 27, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Walter Lee Rolin and Bro. Darrell McElhaney officiating. Burial followed at Judson Creek Indian Cemetery.

The family received friends Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Tinker Rolin, Johnny Steadham, Bryan Couch, Danny Couch, Brent Dorough and Dalphin Gohagan.

Christina “Chrissy” Ordis
Mrs. Christina “Chrissy” Ordis, age 34, passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 in Milton, Fla. Mrs. Ordis was a native of Pensacola, Fla., former resident of Century, Fla. and has resided in Milton for the past 3 years. She was wonderful mother and of the Baptist Faith.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Wiley & Margaret Ordis, Ethel Robbins, aunt, Katherine Barrow and uncle, John Flowers.

She is survived by her father Ronnie (Lynn) Ordis of Camp Hill, Ala.; mother, Celeste (Bo) Morris of Milton; three sons, Dylan Ordis of Camp Hill, Caden Ordis of Camp Hill and Dennis Blake Mathis of Milton; one daughter, Jasmine Ordis of Camp Hill and one brother, Ronnie Eugene (Hannah Davidson) Ordis, Jr. of Milton.

Funeral services were held Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home. Burial followed at the Pinebarren Cemetery.

Visitation was Sunday, February 26, 2017 from 1:00 PM until service time at 2 p.m. at the Petty-Eastside Chapel Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were Luke Brown, Zac Sims, Thomas Ordis, Christopher Ordis, Samuel Ordis and Jared Ordis.

Honorary pallbearers were Terry Ordis and Jerry Ordis.

Angelia Faye Johnson Montgomery
Mrs. Angelia Faye Montgomery, age 52, of Atmore, Ala., passed away Wednesday, February 15, 2017. She was a native of Atmore, a graduate of Escambia County High School and a member of Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Montgomery has served in the United States Army and the Alabama National Guard.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Willie Frank and Mary L. Boggan-Johnson; brothers, Willie G. Johnson, Clearance E. Johnson and Marvin Johnson; sisters, Vera A. Butts-Johnson, Eunice Johnson-Brown, Cynthia Johnson-Salter and Sherry Montgomery-Pettway; brothers-in-law, Don Montgomery and Curtis Montgomery.

Mrs. Montgomery is survived by her husband, Winston Montgomery; one daughter, Aerial K. (Arnee Davis) Johnson; one grandson, LaBrice Johnson; one sister, Mary L. Johnson-Salter; nephews, Charles Abney, Jr., Michael (Shannika) Johnson, Sr., Terry (Rita) Johnson, Sr., Lamonta Prim and Jerry (Laletia) Johnson, Sr.; mother-in-law, Cherrie Bell Montgomery; sisters-in-law, Niecy (Charles) Montgomery-Jackson, Dorothy Montgomery-Robinson, Gloris J. Montgomery and Teressa (Rob) Montgomery-Tulliver; brothers-in-law, Rickey Montgomery and Derrick (Sandra) Montgomery; aunts, Beatrice Johnson, Alma Boggan, Vera Boggan and Ruth Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday, February 24, 2017, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Burial followed at Stallworth Cemetery.

The family received friends immediately after the interment at the Fellowship Hall at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church.

Pallbearers were her nephews.

Flower bearers were nieces and friends.

Mattie B. Fagin  
Ms. Mattie B. Fagin, age 84, of Atmore, Ala. passed away Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Crowne Health Care in Mobile, Ala. She was a native of Castleberry, Ala. and a resident of Atmore for most of her life. She worked in hotel housekeeping, private home duty, and for years at Buster’s Restaurant.

Ms. Fagin is survived by three sons, Jimmy Fagin, Clarence Fagin, and Rufus Fagin all of Atmore; six grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held Saturday, March 4, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Escambia Point Activity Center.

Ivel Montgomery
Mr. Ivel Montgomery, age 77, of Evergreen, Ala., passed away Sunday, February 26, 2017, at his residence.
