Benefit set for NHS student

Northview High School student Cade Allen went to Orlando during Christmas break to have surgery. During the procedure, the doctor nicked an artery. Cade has been in the hospital ever since and most of that time he has been in serious condition. To help with mounting medical bills, Northview students and faculty are holding a softball tournament to help pay some of those costs.

Cade’s Benefit Softball Tournament is set for February 3 and 4 at Don Sutton Ballpark in Molino.

* 12 teams maximum

* Double elimination

* At least 10 people on the team, with 3 girls on the field and 4 girls on the team.

* $15 per person

Money is due by Friday, January 27 to Amy Holland in Northview High School’s front office.

NHS student Emily Heard is helping with the tournament. Monday, she confirmed that the following information posted on social media January 17 is correct: Update on Cade … He came out of ICU for about 30 minutes today … and sat in his chair for another hour or so … rehab team took him and had him in a harness on the treadmill … he took some steps with the therapist and some at his own will … he has smiled and laughed today … Please let’s continue our prayers as he is still not fully conscious … God is still answering our prayers!!

Another update Monday, January 23: [Cade] is being discharged from CCU and admitted to Rehab – pray for significant progress.
